Porcelain Wall Sculpture by Dale Zheutlin.
Measuring 420cm x 420cm (14’ x 14’).
19993.
This wonderful piece by Dale Zheutlin
caught my eye because of the crisp lines and well thought out decoration. I chose
this piece because it ties in with our museum of colour project. The artist has
worked with many different colours and worked with the ones complement each other.
The
layers of stains and glazes are overlapping with different thickness'; this
gives the elusion of looking at a window when the sun is hitting the glass. In
this piece there is a mixture of block colour and line, the block colour has been used to break up the area of lines. Tone is
also shown in this piece in the way that the artist has used a mixture of dark
and lighter colours, there is a translucent white layer over the colours to
brighten them and move your eye away from the stronger areas on the piece.
